Video Games Europe speaks for Europe’s video games industry: the major game companies and the national trade associations. It also founded PEGI, the age-rating system used in 38 European countries. Together with Games for Change, the non-profit behind games with a social purpose, it brings policymakers, industry and civil society into one room. The question: how do we keep games a good experience for young players now that the EU KIDS Act is on the table and the Digital Fairness Act is coming?
Dr Rachel Kowert, Research Director at Games for Change, opens with a keynote on the psychology of games and player wellbeing. Studios then present their work, followed by a moderated panel with the European Commission, the European Parliament, industry and civil society.
